What is your videoke song?
I decided to write down my videoke song (or songs, in case you're a magic sing addict like me ha ha). OK, admit it, we Filipinos love to sing and I believe most of us do not pass the chance of singing live, be it using magic sing or the ever popular videoke machine with the 5-peso slot (5 peso nga ba?). I remembered the scene from the My Bestfriend's Wedding movie when Cameron Diaz was trembling with the thought that she has to do karaoke, and acted clumsy while she handled her fear of singing in front of the crowd. I wonder if that hesitation could ever happened to a Filipino ha ha.
OK going back to the question - It's the song that you automatically searched for in the song booklet and that you always sing with gusto whenever given the chance to do videoke. Here's my list:
Crazy For You (by Madonna) - I love this song. I can perfectly sing it coz the tempo is just right for my vocal range. It's also one of the few songs that doesn't make me nervous because it's intro is long enough to allow me to inhale some needed air power for the lungs ha ha.
Good Times Bad Times (by Edie Brickell) - Unlike song number 1, this song just make you sing with a bam! There's probably no intro music at all. I was inspired to give a try in singing this song after I watched and heard Cooky Chua's live rendition on one of her concerts.
Torete (by Moonstar 88) - I appreciate my vocal sound more whenever I sing this song esp the line "..maaari bang hawakan ang iyong mga kamay...". It's a feel good song which reminds me of my youth ha ha. And also I love OPM bands
Real (by Plumb) - I like the acoustic version though
I'd Still Say Yes (version of Jinky Vidal from Freestyle) - I love its drama. Feels like I'm singing in a bar.
Journey (by Lea Salonga) - I simply love Lea Salonga
All I Need (by Barbie's Cradle) - I was happy to find it in IO's (in Jupiter Street, Makati) song list. Happy beat happy song!
Dancing Queen (Abba) - No one else can resist this beat (not even my Japanese boss, who declared that this is his fave song daw..ayun kinanta...biruin mo yon..nka 99 pa ata ang score!)
Kiss Me (Sixpence None the Richer ) - It's a fun song indeed. Really, I love this even before the You Tube version of Alyssa Alano came out....now I'm afraid to sing this song ha ha
