Sir Benjie, Jing, Arlene, Maricar, James- Eat pre-badminton snacks : pandesal and cream cheese at Pan de Manila (with Arlene & Sir Benjie)
- Met with Yusen team (Maricar & James) at the Countersmash court in Santa Rosa - badminton, badminton, badminton

Yesterday, we went to Batasan Complex to attend a public hearing on RA9280 Customs Broker Act (I won't go into details about that). I'm not a customs broker, but I'm one of those representing the exporter/importer sector. The event involve very interesting discussions (even making a SONA-atmosphere, provided by the representative of the brokers' association). His talk is serious, and even emotional, and to tone down the brashness, the chairman jokingly thanked him for his own SONA).
Also, I realized the following:
So ironic....that the co-author of the this law, in the midst of his introductory remarks, suddenly ask what the RA number is. To which the audience exclaim "9280"
So ironic...that beside the halls of government power, there is the place which isn't exactly the most pleasant place to be in...the slums
So ironic...that inside Batasan are the lawmakers...who are suppose to support the welfare of taxpayers by passing relevant laws that will make the society live decently, with security, without worries....but outside just within their sight is the representation of the needy and the less fortunate. This is the community of people who wants to be noticed, to be heard...and by proving so, almost always come to the extent of cursing the people in the govt, the authority. You can't blame them for they have entrusted their lives to the people seeking for power, with the hope that they can create better opportunities for them.
So ironic...that we were able to suprisingly visit a friend/former officemate and even have lunch with her...only this time, now that she's not anymore connected with Fujitsu. Before, she would always invite us to their house but since Laguna is so faraway from QC, the plan never materialized. And so here comes an UNPLANNED, SPONTANEOUS trip (Thanks Monette for the lunch! Good luck on your business and keep up the entrepreneur power in you).
Born on the date when people wouldn't miss sharing a gift, raised in a cool place where we give prominence to the letter "R" (in our town's spoken language, most of the Tagalog words with letter "D" are replaced with letter "R"), and now living and working south of somewhere, with a very colorful life soundtrack. My videoke national anthem is "Goodtimes" by Edie Brickell I am shallow - a decent mug of tea with milk pleases me ; and I am deep - I usually trail socio-political news and issues especially when there is probe in aid of legislation (sabi sa inyo, malalim e ha ha). My personality is very much defined by my iPod music collection. I have a passion for singing and usually takes extra efforts to be discreet and resist the overwhelming urge to sing for hours. Don't worry, the mic still has a chance to leave my hand, when too-mainstream tunes come in.
