Leadership concept itself is not new to us. The early learnings are painstakingly being applied to our current jobs - as we are all already handling people, acting as each section's bigwig. But what makes the seminar very fresh and very interesting are the learnings which made us assess our current leadership style, the flaws (more or less) and be able to learn the most appropriate leadership techniques for each situation we're into and for each type of organization we're handling. As for each group sharing activities, it is also interesting to hear about each of our own experiences in handling people, conflict within the organization, how to resolve issues with subordinates etc.
Of course serious topics like these may turn out to be quite tedious, if not for the very effective manner the speaker tackled the topics. We also enjoyed ice breakers which showcased talents of would-be actors (toying around with every acting chance there is ha ha!)
Also, since we stayed there overnight, what a cool way to end the last quarter of the night but with d'gimik, of course!, we headed to Cape Lupe and listen to the performing band. Haay, a kind of drunkenness fills me when I'm listening to bands..raw music. Not coz of the SanMig mind you (I don't drink that much, half a bottle perhaps!)
Over all, nice to hang out with people!
Born on the date when people wouldn't miss sharing a gift, raised in a cool place where we give prominence to the letter "R" (in our town's spoken language, most of the Tagalog words with letter "D" are replaced with letter "R"), and now living and working south of somewhere, with a very colorful life soundtrack. My videoke national anthem is "Goodtimes" by Edie Brickell I am shallow - a decent mug of tea with milk pleases me ; and I am deep - I usually trail socio-political news and issues especially when there is probe in aid of legislation (sabi sa inyo, malalim e ha ha). My personality is very much defined by my iPod music collection. I have a passion for singing and usually takes extra efforts to be discreet and resist the overwhelming urge to sing for hours. Don't worry, the mic still has a chance to leave my hand, when too-mainstream tunes come in.
