  This is my DECEMBER (2006)...
This year the party was held in Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay. Chilly wind, food galore, the works....actually I'm not really active in SETMA (only during events like this ha ha...volunteer ba!). There were the active members of the group from fellow semicon companies (like Intel, IMI, etc). Then of course, the forwarders (Yusen, DHL, FedEx, TNT etc) and the airline people.
Our group (FCPP team) of course participated also in the activities. In one of the games, the SEIPI organizers/hosts picked 12 participants (including me! ) for the "12 Days of Christmas" contest. The mechanics are simple, you just have to be equipped with a sharp memory, a strong presence of mind and a childlike fondness for Christmas Carols (actually the song involve here is not really usually heard sung by children as carollers). They ask each one of us to sing the corresponding "day of Christmas" assigned to us. If you miss the lyrics then you're out! (I'm not sure if they pushed me at the end of the line, but I suddenly found myself getting ready to sing the complete song, as in from 12th down to the 1st day of Christmas, coz I was the twelfth participant). Others who were originally at the end of the line managed to squeeze themselves into the first 5 slots (medyo naaalala pa nila ang lyrics hanggang "5 golden rings").
Anyway, I did it, but it was hard pala to sing a lengthy song especially if you're singing it alone. I still got confused between what's with the "ninth" and the "tenth" day, but somehow managed to reach "...and a partridge in a pear tree"....with a good audience of course he he.
What do I got? just gift certificates worth something.... and of course.....BRAGGING RIGHTS! ha ha (well at least all those carolling days when I was still a small child paid off).
The party was originally scheduled on Dec 1, but because of the confirmed news/forecast of the coming typhoon, the party was postponed on the last minute and rescheduled on Dec 8 instead. And then on Dec 1...the joke is...guess what?....no typhoon, no rain either, just strong but manageable winds....hmmp, KJ!!!
Finally, all set for the Dec-8 party (wala ng kokontra). This year's team is Mask-A-rock. There were contests like Musiklaband (band competition featuring alternative music); In-Dance-trial (Group dance contest featuring techno-fantasy music); and of course the Ms FCPP (beauty contest). The contests surprisingly featured the talents of Fujitsu members, you will wonder how they were they able to devote enough time to conceptualize and rehearse all their act (considering that December work schedule is also very tight).
Of course there were also the usual celebrity guests, but I'm not really excited about their presence (ok lang).....
Well since December makes everyone happy and make you instantly in a party mood, get-togethers have flooded also my December calendar of events. Be it with friends, families, officemates, former classmates, former officemates, acquiantances, etc. With all my intention to at least organize one get-together for my college classmates and egroups email friends (I created one for my IE batch a year ago), and with the help of Tsel and Bing, natuloy din sa wakas. Just a "simple dinner", kwentuhan, tsismisan, and kumustahan. We had it in Santa Rosa's version of Dampa (you'll buy from their wet market then the resto will cook it for you, with a minimum charge of course).
The attendees all came from work, as it was Tuesday, a working day. But the best thing is most of us are working within Laguna area, so no hassle. The attendees are: Me (from the sleepy golf town of Canlubang); Bing (from Amkor Laguna Tecknopark), Tsel (from Nikko Matls Laguna Technopark); Ruth (from Sekisuijushi Carmelray Canlubang) with husband Eric (from Fujitsu also); Abby (from Isuzu Phils laguna Technopark); Jenny (from Zilog Sucat) who came with her husband; Haydee (from Fujitsu also) who also came with husband German. Others couldn't come that evening because they also have their own office parties.
We had fun, nice to hang out with FRIENDS!
Rara and I attended Lanz party in Pixie Forest Festival mall Alabang (the same place where Rara also celebrated her 1st bday party). Rara was restless and so kulit as she saw the mascot Skip(?).
Lanz is the son of my very good friend Richelle.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANZ !
Despite the tight budget we also organized our section's Christmas party. This time, we had the party package in RSM Calamba. The place is OK, suited for a 37-member throng. The food is also OK. The greatest of fun part is the videoke marathon (the group weren't going to let everyone leave without singing), I'm usually a total microphone hog (my friends could testify that I could do videoke and stay on the mic for hours and hours). But this time, I had to be more discreet, because I'm with the group of fellow videoke addicts like me he he! Well at least I pleased myself with my little song rendition of Kitchie Nadal's "Wag na Wag mong Sasabihin" (this is the first time I sang this on videoke and it's..OK!)...even the guys sang cheesy songs!!...
OMG, that day also has the worst TRAFFIC ever (especially in SLEX)!
Our members went home happy, tipsy (two male members even went home veeeerry drunk, as in lasing sa lambanog!...this unusual drink was brought by our mngr from Batangas) and ALL winners of the raffle prizes we had for that evening. We raffled off twenty 500-worth SM gift certificates, several freebies like planners, bags, etc. And for the major prizes: 1 electric oven, 1 DVD player and 1 CD/MP3 stereo player
Merry, happy Christmas!
All the Filipino Supvrs/Mngrs/Directors of FCPP (we're around 80 including the newly promoted supvrs, I think) were invited to the annual Christmas party exclusive for this group. The previous parties were always held in Alabang area (Bellevue, Aspen Towers) but this time para daw mas maganda (mas traffic nga lang) it was held in Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati.
"Just so all of us are in sync", as said by our VP, it was decided on that the party will be less formal. We were told to come in "smart casual attire" (actually in the past years, this party couldn't really get that formal). We left the office at 4 pm so that we'll be in time as the party starts at 6:30 pm. We arrived surprisingly on time (there's traffic approaching Alabang viaduct only). First of all, hotel lobbies are really magical during holiday seasons, especially that night as the angelic voices of a group of small boys were heard upon entrance (I'm not sure if it's some sort of a recital or a Christmas voice concert for a cause).
So there we were, with much anticipation for the fun, surprises, entertainment and gifts. On stage, the guest band Retrospect performed 80's dance hits much to the delight of the majority of the crowd (napaghahalata ang edad!). Dancing was the farthest thing from my mind. I don't dance because I can't dance, or well sometimes I do. Especially if the mood and music is happy enough, chances are I just might dance. That night, everybody was dancing (shamelessly he he). Some are doing it ala Romy & Michelle (from the wacky movie Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion).
The food was great! The raffle prizes are great! (I took home a large gift/grocery basket, as a minor prize).
The fun part came when guest Wally & Jose (of Eat Bulaga fame) performed and showed their comedy antics (they're good singer/performer; and they got the audience wild as they delivered jokes made fun of some people from the audience, in short "nang okray" sila the usual style sa mga comedy bar.
Party on!
Salamat sa lahat ng nakaalala (including those SMS which registered on my inbox pero di ko kilala kasi di nka-save ang cel numbers sa phone book ko...sorry...but just the same THANKS A LOT!
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!
