Our section's Christmas Party held in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna
We had several raffle prizes (good prizes I bet you! The winners all went home happy)
We had games (traditional & the famous videoke duet marathon!)
We had good food (courtesy of some members who volunteered to prepare it, take note, mga masculado ang nagluto, magagaling pala sa kusina)
Most of the members of my team are male and some brought along their families (wife and kids and gf's)
We had great F-U-N!!!!!!
Doo bidoo
We had our company Christmas party on Dec 14, 2007. This year's theme is "Paskong Pinoy". It was all fun, save for some glitches (for example, we noticed that the sound system was barely loud compared to last year's, or maybe because, we were seated far away from the stage).
All in all, the party is a welcome break from our hectic December work schedule. It's great that we were able to finish our work activities just in time for the start of the party (We worked until 3 pm then proceeded to the party venue, just inside the FCPP vicinity).
The crowd got excited to see the celebrity guests, which included Vhong Navarro & Valerie Concepcion as the party hosts. There are also performances by Streetboys and the band Kamikazee.
By the time Kamikazee came on stage with a numerous song set, the crowd was just as lively as the band was. I'm glad that the event didn't turn out to be ugly (which normally happens when a crowd wanted metal, and even ready to shed blood just to get it). I was even impressed that unlike most bands' vocalists, maraming spiels si Jay Contreras di gaya ng iba na kanta lang ng kanta. Still, he's the disheveled, charming bad boy of today's OPM band circle (Listening to them makes me wish na sana naging lalake ako - medyo maangas pero nakakaaliw...and in that case, cursing in Tagalog is not wicked anymore).
kulit!!!
Too bad nakapikit ako, di bale, Jay is also squinting!
So This Is Christmas....Torete!
Last Friday, Dec 7, I attended the first Christmas party on my list of parties this season. This was for SEIPI-SETMA (Semiconductor & Electronics Industries In the Phils, Inc - SEIPI Traffic Managers Association) and attended by Logistics, Supply chain operations, Import/Export personnel and executives. There are also executives from forwarders/brokers and airline industries. It was a very fun, chilly night party held in Taal Vista Hotel tent. We went there straight from the office and enjoy the feast, the videoke marathon, the exchange gifts, raffle draw and the games.
The early birds are given gifts for arriving there on time, which prompted the host to announce in jest... "siguro halfday kayo no?, kami kasi late kasi tinapos pa namin ang trabaho namin". Coming from Laguna, we're lucky enough to allot a mere 20 minutes just to get from office to the party place. The party is always a sure hit, as proven by positive attendance rate (even members from as far as Baguio, from Texas Instrument, were also there to party).
I saw there familiar faces of Sales people from forwarders who would occassionally visit our office to offer their services. Some of them have became our friends already, because of the working relationship and the constant communication, sale courtesy call and being together on the regular SETMA meetings.
For most of the games, the host would get representative from each table either individually or in group.
I wasn't able to participate in any of the game (too bad there's no "12 days of Christmas" song challenge this year. Last year, I had the bragging rights of being able to sing that song completely). But, when they were calling in people to sing, my officemate Arlene volunteered me in <cge na nga, kapal muks naman ako pagdating sa kantahan ha ha>...and additional kapal muks, I asked "me prize ba yong kakanta?"....and the host said "of course"...so GO!!
It seems that their videoke song chip is outdated (read: Abba, Carpenters, Madonna) and they don't have the latest chip (read: Imago, MYMP, Nina). I seriously searched one by one for my song genre. And it was nearing the end, then voila!...I saw one of my favorite videoke tune "Torete" by Moonstar88. It never fails. And is always a very safe song for my vocal range. Bukod sa feeling ko, in love ako (the teenager's way) everytime I sing it. Feeling ko di naman sila naasar ha ha.
So that's it muna....more Christmas parties to come!
