Speaking of....
"Spontaneous". Recently I went on a "spontaneous" trip to the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon. I went to the office in the morning of Thursday...have realized that I can do away with work on a Friday....confirmed not to attend the company outing on Saturday....and that Monday is a holiday....so I filed my 1 and 1/2 VL (halfday on Thursday) and went home and tried to pack my luggage, as fast as I could. I made everyone else hurried up to get ready because we have to endure the evening travel to the province.
It was fun because I was with Rara and I can say that travelling with her now is a breeze, because she's a little girl already, so she can appreciate more of the things surrounding her, and she can do some things on her own already. Luckily, she get used to long-hour travels already so I don't have problem with her getting nauseous or catching cold due to sudden change of weather. I also noticed that she doesn't want to drink milk when we're outside and insisted on drinking fruit juice instead.

The places we visited are more interesting than usual because it was my first time to be there. However, it was raining and cloudy in Albay during our stay....aaahh....weather....

"Weather". Since it was raining from time to time, and realizing that Region 5 is always hit by typhoons, I consciously tried to look over the place to see any traces of the gloomy incident of last year's supertyphoon Reming which resulted to loss of lives and massive destruction to properties. We passed by some towns which were described exactly in this interesting report. Also, it seems that the rainpour there is "different" than any other place, 'cause I've felt that it's heavier than usual (parang mas malakas ang ulan doon, or siguro kasi I'm imagining how it was during typhoons, especially after hearing stories from my relatives about how some places there easily got flooded, somehow parang nagka phobia daw ang mga tao dun after nong typhoon "Reming")......but overall, the province is scenic, with beautiful old churches (I loooooove old churches!), nice and polite people (napagod din ako kaka bless sa mga elders)....

"Beauty". So off we went to Donsol, Sorsogon. The place is so beautiful. It was an unplanned trip (earlier we came from a wedding celebration), we were thinking of good place to visit, and I suggested Donsol. I'm sure it's a place of bliss for diving enthusiasts, especially those eyeing the "butanding / whale shark" sightings. It was worth the long trip to this secluded place. The trip was tiring especially when you have a three-year old "super makulit" kid as a companion and made me endure a bit of a sacrifice (in terms of "money", since going to any far place -spending vacation- is also costly nowadays, haha)...

"Sacrifice". Not related to my "kwento" about our trip to Albay, I have heard of an ironic story about "sacrifice" while watching a special report in TV about how a minimum-wage earner spends his money considering the daily cost of living. The investigative reporter trailed a typical housewife, how she budgeted a meager allowance of around 130 pesos per day. She bought "simple" food like sardines and noodles, to go with the staple rice. It was a pity that her family had to sacrifice and settle on this lowly condition. In the end, with a disheartened tone, she mentioned something like "eto na lang natira kinse pesos",. The reporter asked her, "Eh ano pong gagawin nyo dyan sa natira nyong kinse pesos?"......The woman answered.. "pambili ng softdrinks"....huh!, talk about sacrifice!
